Happy You Year

Happy New Year!!!!! The 2009 year is gone and now we start anew. Congratulations to all the new brides and grooms this year. Congratulations to the soon to be married and the soon to be engaged. I am looking forward to spending some time with you and help create your fabulous wedding.

There are some rules of engagement that I want new brides and grooms to know. Here is a list of a few things that may lead you in the right direction.

Select your venue now. The economy is still suffering and this is an opportunity for you to get those deals even if your wedding is 2 years from this point.

Start thinking attendants gifts. It may be premature but those after Christmas sales can save money and produce great gifts.

Think about your theme. If it is winter wedding you can get some great bargains on Christmas and winter details. Think about colors (red, gold, and silver), candle holders, ornaments, etc...

Select your vendors. They can get booked as the year goes on or the economy gets better. A lot of vendors have great deals and are more amicable about adjusting their prices to fit the client's need.

Look for your flower girl's attire early on. Easter and Communion are a great time to look for a dress for spring and summer wedding. One of my client's got a dress for $25.00 and the little girl was cute as a button. Christmas time or end of the season you can find great winter dresses for weddings. *Note: Size can be tricky. Get 2 dresses in different sizes to be safe.

I hope these few tips can help you Jumpstart your wedding planning.
